About Halas Labradors

Our StoryWe are the Browns. Chris, Teresa, Tanner, Haylee, Sabine (chocolate), Rey Rey (Fox Red) and Ahsoka (Black). We are located in Canada. We are a down to earth, active family. We started with one chocolate Labrador I bought for Chris as a surprise, before we were married, over 18 years ago. Her name was Calli and she was one of the best dogs you could ask for but that's what every Labrador owner says right. She had a long life of 14 years with us. As she went quietly in the fall of 2020, after we all said goodbye, we thought we would never find another one like her.

Chris did extensive research only to come up with other disappointing breeders nearby. He broadened his search and found Tammy who was more than helpful. Once we kept talking we knew we found the perfect match. We quickly gravitated to Tammy and her beautiful litters and lineage. Next thing we know, we put a deposit down on a puppy and the breeder booked a ticket for us to pickup our next furry family member at our nearest airport. Just after we lost Calli, we knew we wanted to become breeders and continue this legacy for our children. We set some things up and started the process.

Sabine turned 2 in December 2022. After enjoying her as she grew, Tammy kept hinting about her beautiful litter of fox red labs and one was due for a home February 2023. Once we decided this was going to be our thing, we knew we would never get a fox red out of Sabine. So again, we booked a flight within a week and hopped on a plain to go pick her up. We decided on naming our girls with female Star Wars names. Sabine is named after the animated TV series Star Wars Rebels and Rey is named after the 3rd generation Star Wars movie series.

We visit the local beaches in my area and they both love the water and playing in the sand just as much as the kids. But what Sabine and Rey love most is running in the open mountain air, picking up sticks and smelling all the different animals that walk through all hours of the day. As they get older, it's evident Sabine loves the water and Rey loves to wonder and explore. Our family wouldn't be complete without both of them. We hope you will feel the same.
